Last time we talked about Christmas, today let’s learn about Valentine’s Day. Valentine’s Day is quite a bit different in many English speaking countries.
前回のクリスマスに続き、今回はバレンタインデーについてです。英語圏では日本のバレンタインデーと異なることが多いです。

Normally partners exchange chocolates or gifts with each other. Giving flowers or presents is also common. By the way, there are no “obligation chocolates”.
恋人同士でチョコを渡すのが多いです。チョコ以外でも、プレゼント交換や花（特にバラ）を渡すのもよくあります。ちなみに、義理チョコの概念はありません。

At some schools, students exchange cards with messages. Usually they write one for every classmate. There are lots of cards sold for Valentine’s day, including those with famous cartoon characters.

Other than Valentine’s Day, there is another famous holiday where kids often get chocolate. Do you know what it is?

For Easter, it is common to give kids chocolate bunnies and chocolate eggs. It’s also common to paint eggs vibrant colours. In some areas people then hide and search for eggs or chocolate.
